Zenith Vineyard dates back to 1982 when Pat and Pati O’Connor established O’Connor Vineyards. Tim and Kari Ramey purchased the vineyards in 2002 and renamed it Zenith Vineyard. The Zenith Vineyard is a warm site centrally located in the Eola-Amity Hills A.V.A. The Rameys custom planted two acres of Pinot Noir for the Broadley Winery on “Block One” of this historic site.
Wine Making Notes:
2015 Vintage Tasting Notes:
Color: Transparent core, medium body, ruby red.
Nose: Blackberry, cherry, cedar, and vanilla/anise aromas.
Mouth/Palate Profile: Chewy forward and mid-palate acid/tannins guard the flavors of cherry pit, plum, cola and chalky minerality on the finish. The Broadley Zenith selection demonstrates firm acid/tannin profile giving a glimpse of fruit and cola flavors that will open with age. A blend of Pommard and Wädenswil. Wild yeast fermentation. Fermented in a open top 1.5 oak fermentor for 14-21 days. Starting with pump overs and then three punch downs a day. 30% new Francois Freres balance in neutral barrels. 12 months in barrel.
